I also installed a magnaflow muffler on the stock exhaust and shorty headers. The kit alone does make a noticeable difference.I don't know if it's a 25 hp increase or not. I know I'm a little late posting in this topic, but I have this installed on my truck and wanted to weigh in on this one. Volant intakes create a lean condition which needs to be tuned out, meaning there is MORE air entering the engine. That is exactly the opposite problem of what people with a Volant intake encounter. I may not be an expert in AFRs, but it seems to me the trucks are starving for air at higher rpms, creating a rich condition. This included all 4.8,5.3 and 6.0 trucks. Until I see a third party like BlackBear do a back to back dyno run with this intake I will hold my skepticism.Įdit: took a peek at the instructions and saw this: During static dyno testing we witnessed "EVERY TRUCK" range from a 15.2-14.1 airfuel at idle to a part throttle 12.513.2 to a wide open reading of an amazingly rich 10.0-10.7 airfuel ratio in stock OEM form. Also, how can the scoops both be "over" 100% efficiency?Īs has been shown over and over again, a MIT with a stock box produces more power than most is not all aftermarket CAIs, and at 1/3 of the cost. The "performance guarantee" gives no parameters to measure for performance. I will probably remain skeptical on this one.
